As a Pre-Sales Security Solutions Architect, you will partner with Technical Account Managers (TAMs) to foster growth within the enterprise customer segment by providing technical expertise for the Qualys Platform. This role leverages a deep understanding of Qualys technologies to architect solutions tailored to customer requirements and business needs.

Qualys Solutions Architects are trusted advisors, offering insights into asset and vulnerability management, threat detection and response, patching, compliance, and cloud and application security. This senior technical position necessitates collaboration with sales, Chief Technical Security Officers, product management, marketing, and partners. It's a strategic and highly visible role that provides an excellent career advancement opportunity along with the chance to make a significant impact.

Typical Duties:

  • Support complex deals in the pre-sales stage alongside Qualys sellers by driving technical engagements and securing technical wins.
  • Understand and document customer compliance and security requirements, delivering end-to-end solutions based on Qualys security solutions and partner integrations.
  • Identify technical and business value gaps and create use cases for the Qualys platform.
  • Engage with prospects and existing customers to secure technical wins for new opportunities.
  • Execute proof-of-concepts/proof-of-value engagements to support strategic pursuits.
  • Establish advisory relationships with customer technical decision-makers.
  • Collaborate with field sellers to deliver proposals that highlight the unique value of the Qualys platform.
  • Interface with product management to prioritize impactful feature requests and share ideas for new products.
  • Develop and conduct various technical engagements such as workshops and architecture design sessions.
  • Stay abreast of developments in the Qualys portfolio and security ecosystem.
  • Contribute to sales-enablement resources and assist in training field sales teams.
  • Document and communicate business and technical insights to enhance customer outcomes and support company goals.
  • Author blogs, whitepapers, and solution guides and represent Qualys at industry events.

This is a technical role that requires frequent travel to customer locations (approximately 30% travel post-COVID restrictions).

Required Skills:

  • Proactive self-starter with a solution-oriented mindset and a passion for leveraging technology to address security and compliance challenges.
  • Experience with Qualys or other security and compliance platforms in roles such as a practitioner, technical seller, sales engineer, or customer success architect.
  • Solid understanding of asset management, patching, vulnerability management, policy compliance, cloud and application security, and threat detection.
  • Ability to design complex architectures to address security and compliance issues from identification to remediation.
  • Knowledge of industry/compliance standards for governing corporate and government security programs.
  • Familiarity with public cloud services like AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles, particularly as a technical seller.
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—and excellent interpersonal and presentation abilities.
