As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our next generation ordering platform, enhancing the ordering experience for our customers. This position is ideal for a creative problem solver who thrives in an international workplace and is eager for new challenges.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a talented engineering team within an agile software development environment, fostering a self-organized and cross-functional culture.
- Mentor and develop engineering talent through effective coaching and retention strategies in a rapidly growing and competitive landscape.
- Guide the team in creating comprehensive software solutions that address both functional and non-functional requirements such as availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency, following internal engineering standards.
- Oversee discovery, planning, and execution processes to deliver customer value in small, incremental batches.
- Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and drive desired outcomes for your team and domain.
- Contribute to the broader technology organization by leading strategic initiatives.
What You Need to Be Successful:
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4 years in hands-on technical leadership and people management.
- Proven experience in building and leading empowered, cross-functional, self-organized teams of multidisciplinary engineers.
- Ability to align with other teams on initiative scope, analyze potential delays, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Strong experience in developing large-scale applications with modern programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, Go).
- Knowledge of various technology stacks, tools, and practices, including DevOps.
- Proficiency in designing, implementing, monitoring, and scaling web applications and APIs.
- Experience in developing iOS and Android mobile applications.
- Familiarity with agile practices and a solid understanding of lean/agile values and principles.
- Background in unit testing, TDD, and BDD/ATDD.
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and building applications using distributed systems (Microservices, Event-Driven, SOA, and RESTful Services).
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redis, DynamoDB).
- Experience with CI/CD tools and techniques while ensuring quality, performance, monitoring, alerting, and security.
