This role sits within our Shopping Tribe, specifically in the Finding & Discovery domain. You’ll work closely with domain leads in product and engineering on strategic topics and support multiple cross-functional squads in shaping the future of discovery.
We’re looking for someone who brings a strategic mindset, strong product and business acumen, and deep expertise in design and research craft. Someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is excited to partner with product teams and business stakeholders to create meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop deep domain knowledge of your squad's product area and collaborate with your manager to solve complex problems.
- Conduct generative research to understand the problem space and design a delightful customer experience.
- Minimize assumptions in the design process and ascertain focus areas with the Product Manager.
- Gather continuous user feedback throughout different stages of the problem-solving process.
- Create simple, elegant solutions to complex interaction problems with high attention to detail.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops to achieve desired outcomes.
- Utilize and evolve our design system to create flows, prototypes, sketches, and high-fidelity visuals for features.
- Use a variety of metrics to evaluate and improve user experience continuously.
- Drive cooperation within the design chapter and contribute to a collaborative culture.
- Mentor junior team members and present your work to peers, stakeholders, and leaders for feedback.
Requirements for Success:
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts/Design/Marketing/Graphic Design/Visual Communication/Multimedia Graphics.
- Minimum 5-6 years of UX & UI design experience in agile, consumer-focused organizations.
- Experience in partnering with Product Managers to develop strategies for features.
- Minimum 2-3 years of user interaction experience and organizing workshops with different stakeholders.
- Advanced knowledge of design and prototyping tools (Sketch, Invision, Zeplin, etc.).
- An outstanding portfolio showcasing your thought process and user experience understanding.
- Proven track record of shipping high-quality designs and understanding the details that matter at each release stage.
- Ability to articulate design decisions and tell compelling stories.
- Capability to manage multiple work streams in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- A humble, curious mindset with a focus on continuous feedback and growth.
