Position

Akkodis is a global leader in the engineering and R&D market, leveraging connected data to accelerate innovation and digital transformation. We are seeking an experienced Freelance IT Manager to join our client in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Location: Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates
Work Conditions: On-site, Temporary (approximately 1 month)

Key Responsibilities:

  • IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of IT systems, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud environments.
  • ERP Implementation & Support: Manage the deployment, customization, and ongoing support of ERP solutions to align with business needs.
  • Network Administration: Ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of LAN/WAN networks, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • System Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain security policies, backup solutions, disaster recovery plans, and compliance with industry standards.
  • IT Strategy & Digital Transformation: Develop IT strategies to enhance operational efficiency, scalability, and digital innovation.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for IT-related incidents, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to optimize IT solutions.
  • IT Budgeting & Cost Optimization: Manage IT budgets, software licensing, and procurement of IT assets.
  • User Training & Documentation: Provide training sessions and documentation to enhance IT literacy across teams.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in IT management, infrastructure administration, and ERP system support.
  • Strong expertise in Windows/Linux servers, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), cloud services (AWS/Azure), and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent) and IT service management frameworks (ITIL).
  • Experience in network administration (firewalls, VPNs, routing, and switching) and data center operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and strategic mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CCNA, ITIL, PMP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.

Language Requirements:

  • Proficiency in English is required. Additional language skills may be an advantage.
