AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As part of a diverse team comprising software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers, you will collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost. We are seeking a highly motivated Cabling Infrastructure Engineer to join the Infrastructure Delivery organization.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to budget and timelines.
  • Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement.
  • Work closely with Capacity Planning, Install/Deployment Technicians, and Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast and smooth rollout of new designs and products.
  • Coordinate design, project timeline/schedule, and construction works.
  • Ability to move and lift computer equipment up to 50lbs (25kg) and perform physical work for extended periods, including ladder climbing.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Assurance, or a relevant subject.
  • Experience in large scale datacenter network implementations and support.
  • Comprehensive understanding of modern systems and network platforms, including requirements for physical layer interconnectivity and TCP/IP networking.
  • Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment, such as VFL, power meter, and OTDR.
  • Experience with medium to large, complex project scopes and ambiguous details within a work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BCSI RCCD qualified or equivalent.
  • Professional experience with IT best practice frameworks (ITIL, LEAN, AGILE) and Operational Excellence concepts or methodologies.
  • CCNA Certification.
