About the Job:
The Systems Integrations Engineering Manager role at Canonical is an engineering management opportunity for a technologist passionate about Linux and Ubuntu. The position involves leading the Commercial Systems unit which has diverse responsibilities across six engineering teams in collaboration with other engineering and business units at Canonical. The primary focus is on integrating business systems to ensure reliable data flow and automating business processes. The team utilizes popular SaaS solutions such as Salesforce, NetSuite, GSuite, and others, employing languages like Python and Go along with open source tools such as Airbyte and Temporal.
You will lead, mentor, and hire a team of software engineers, design and deliver engineering solutions, and partner with business customers to understand their data and integration needs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of software engineers
- Design and implement engineering solutions using Go, Python, and open source tools
- Seek improvements in established processes and engineering solutions
- Collaborate with business customers to understand their integration needs
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience as a software developer in Python
- Strong understanding of integration patterns
- Previous experience as a hands-on engineering manager or team lead
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to collaborate remotely with diverse team members
- Willingness to travel internationally for approximately 2-4 weeks per year
Additional Skills:
- Experience in Go
- Background in business roles such as sales or finance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
Language Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills in English are required.
