Position

The IT Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the organization's IT project portfolio. This role involves strategic planning, resource allocation, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The postholder is also expected to oversee the execution and delivery of multiple complex IT projects and programs simultaneously, coordinating cross-functional teams within the organization. The IT Program Manager is responsible for defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables, as well as monitoring progress, managing risks, and communicating status to stakeholders.

  • Portfolio Strategy and Planning (40%):

    • Develop and implement the IT project portfolio strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to prioritize projects based on strategic goals and resource availability.
  • Project Delivery Oversight (25%):

    • Provide leadership and oversight to project managers to ensure successful project execution.
    • Implement best practices and methodologies to enhance project delivery efficiency.
  • Resource Allocation and Optimization (15%):

    • Efficiently allocate resources across the IT project portfolio to ensure optimal project delivery.
    • Monitor resource utilization and make adjustments to meet project demands.
  • Risk Management (10%):

    • Identify and assess risks within the IT project portfolio, implementing mitigation strategies.
    • Proactively address issues to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Communication (10%):

    • Communicate portfolio status, progress, and issues to key stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational objectives.
    • Foster collaboration between IT and business units.

Education & Experience

The post-holder must possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with a minimum of three (3) years of post-graduate in IT Program Management; Master's degree preferred. Or;
  • A mature entrant with an industry-recognized relevant technical accreditation such as (PMP) with a minimum of Six (6) years of relevant IT project and portfolio management experience.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven experience in IT project and portfolio management, including strategic planning and resource optimization.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Strong understanding of IT governance, risk management, and compliance.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and effective communication.
  • Proficiency in project portfolio management tools and software i.e. Jira, DevOps highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in ITIL practices is highly desirable Customer Service Support

Salary Range

Salary: $101,499.00 - $133,210.00 USD
