The Information System Engineer is a seasoned subject matter expert, responsible for delivering enterprise-level IT support and maintenance of various IT services to the organization. The core responsibilities of this role include leveraging engineering tools and processes for effective installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance and support of company infrastructure and systems. This role works independently and uses troubleshooting skills to research and resolve issues considered medium- to complex in nature.

What You'll Be Doing
Key Responsibilities:

  • Installs, tests, and maintains new hardware or software to provide new services or to resolve user and system problems.
  • Performs troubleshooting and system analysis to resolve incidents and ensure system availability.
  • Conducts system administration tasks including configuration, systems monitoring, troubleshooting, and support.
  • Tests and validates new systems to ensure they fulfill the requested functionality and quality.
  • Implements backup and recovery procedures to ensure needed availability.
  • Monitors systems proactively by collecting availability, performance metrics, and system logs.
  • Performs hardware or software upgrades and patching to support vulnerability and risk management.
  • Defines, raises, and executes changes as part of the Change Management Process.
  • Creates system documentation and maintains fixes, modifications, or other changes.
  • Executes tasks as part of request fulfillment.
  • Escalates and collaborates with vendors or other delivery organizations if needed to provide the right level of support.
  • Identifies and documents potential system problems within the ticket tool.
  • Suggests possible service improvements.
  • Creates and manages tickets for Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, and Request Fulfillment.
  • Documents work results, actions taken, steps to resolve, effort, and resolution time in the ticketing system.
  • Performs other tasks as defined, planned, and approved by the leadership team.
  • Works with senior team members to gain guidance on working procedures and technical possibilities to ensure the highest level of systems availability.

Required Knowledge and Attributes:

  • Seasoned knowledge of needed infrastructure technology or Software, including Office 365, Microsoft Windows Servers, VMware, and Microsoft Exchange Server.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting with good technical understanding.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain technical content to senior leadership/management level.
  • Knowledge of ITIL support processes (Incident, Change, and Request Management).
  • Ability to understand the business processes delivered with the managed system.
  • Capability to research and evaluate new technologies to improve service outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate results and choose the best solution.
  • Ability to collaborate with teams from several business areas/functions for project facilitation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while prioritizing workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with key systems and tools related to information technology.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or related field.
  • Microsoft Certifications preferred.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience in IT Systems.
