About the Job:
The Senior Project Manager leads and oversees large, long-range, and/or multiple complex projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline. This role requires a strong leader with extensive project management experience. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for developing project plans, managing resources, mitigating risks, and fostering collaboration among cross-functional teams. This individual will also champion Agile principles and coach teams to maximize their effectiveness.
Your Role and Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, detailed cost estimates, resource allocation, realistic schedules, communication strategies, and risk management plans. Proactively monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement corrective actions.

Leadership & Team Management: Provide leadership and direction to project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Delegate tasks effectively, set clear expectations, and provide regular feedback and coaching. Mentor and guide junior project managers and team members.

Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, providing regular project updates and managing expectations. Build strong relationships with clients, users, and internal teams. Act as a liaison between the project team and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and addressing any concerns.

Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues. Develop contingency plans and escalate critical issues to senior management as needed.

Financial Management: Manage project budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness. Track project expenditures and report on financial performance.

Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet established standards. Monitor project performance against key metrics and drive continuous improvement.

Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and improvement of project management methodologies and best practices within the organization. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Documentation & Reporting: Use IBM tools and systems to maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, reports, and meeting minutes. Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in project management, with a focus on complex, large-scale projects.
- Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2).
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
