Position

The Senior Specialist, Systems Engineering – Mission Systems Maintenance Field Engineer will be responsible for advising and instructing end-users on troubleshooting and repairing aircraft and ground ISR Mission Systems modified by L3Harris. Key responsibilities include debriefing aircrews on the performance of L3H modified mission systems and devising troubleshooting plans to resolve discrepancies, providing On-the-Job (OJT) training for end-users and L3Harris assigned personnel, attending all required meetings, briefings, and training courses, acting as the documentation expert for all components removed and replaced on aircraft and ground systems, troubleshooting and maintaining all ISR equipment delivered to end-users, including Mission System Trainers and Ground Operator Workstations, and communicating with the job site and PMO to influence changes to practices, processes, and approaches.

Essential Functions:

  • Operating and maintaining strategic ISR aircraft and ground systems.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical/electronic terminology, symbols, codes, and diagrams.
  • Using test equipment to isolate malfunctions and effect repairs.
  • Working under extreme weather conditions and assisting team members as needed.
  • Leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.

Job Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, or at least 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • An active DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret (SCI) security clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship.
  • Three (3) years of flight line maintenance experience and a minimum of four (4) years of ISR mission systems and subsystems experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical orders and use test equipment for repairs.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation).

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • An active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Experience working overseas with foreign customers and in Saudi Arabia.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and OneNote.
  • Experience as an aircraft maintenance instructor and relevant coursework or experience in systems engineering or project management.
