We are looking for a Data Science Manager responsible for managing a team of data scientists and collaborating with various departments to implement data-driven strategies. This role will oversee the entire data science pipeline, from data collection to model building and deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a high-performing team of data scientists
- Oversee and report on daily operations of data science activities
- Collaborate with Mozn’s Leadership, Product, Business, and Engineering teams to enable insights and intelligent decision-making across products and projects
- Research, design, guide, implement, and deploy Machine Learning algorithms
- Work with large and complex data sets to solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems using a combination of statistical and machine learning approaches
- Develop quality control and pre-processing tools for various data streams
- Communicate highly technical results and methods clearly and interact with external clients
- Stay informed about developments in Data Science and adjacent fields to ensure the application of modern yet optimal approaches to problems
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Optimization, Econometrics, Operational Research, or equivalent
- MS or Ph.D. in a related field preferred
- 8+ years of relevant work experience applying machine learning at large scales
- Experience managing people
- Ability to articulate business questions and utilize mathematical techniques to derive answers from data and models
- Demonstrated skills in selecting appropriate statistical/machine learning tools for data analysis problems
- Proven experience in extracting actionable insights from quantitative data
- Excellent business and technical communication skills with the ability to prioritize workloads
- Strong bias to action with a desire to learn and create tangible impact
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python/R/SAS/SQL
- Knowledge of version control and peer review systems/workflows
- Familiarity with deploying algorithmic systems in operational environments
- Understanding of software development frameworks and their interactions across the stack
- Comfort with command-line interfaces and working knowledge of cloud computing resources
