About the Job
The Senior Project Manager – Video Game Development will lead and oversee a high-profile video game development project at NEOM. This role involves ensuring successful coordination between our organization and an external game development studio. The Project Manager will be crucial in managing commercial relationships, overseeing the integration of strategic intellectual property into the game, and ensuring the project aligns with our strategic objectives to enhance global awareness and engagement.
Key Accountabilities & Activities
External Studio Coordination
- Review and provide feedback on the game development studio's plans from a commercial and business perspective.
- Negotiate favorable terms for the commercial relationship, including IP licensing and revenue sharing agreements.
- Coordinate the approval process for the use of intellectual property in the game, ensuring it aligns with brand guidelines and strategic objectives.
- Monitor development progress to ensure the game's design and functionality meet the project's goals.
- Manage the relationship with the external game development studio to ensure project milestones are met.
Internal Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary liaison between the development studio and internal stakeholders, including Media and Sport (Esport) teams.
- Facilitate the sharing of materials and information between the development studio and internal teams to support marketing, promotion, and strategic value of the project.
- Communicate project status, milestones, and challenges to internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with overall strategic objectives.
Strategic Oversight and Reporting
- Present comprehensive plans, game designs, commercial forecasts, and IP license terms to the steering committee for approval.
- Ensure all significant decisions and milestones receive appropriate oversight and approval from the steering committee and higher leadership levels, when necessary.
- Analyze and report on project performance, identifying opportunities for optimization and adjustments to meet or exceed strategic goals.
Background, Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in project management within the video game industry, particularly in managing large-scale, high-profile projects.
- Strong understanding of the video game development process, including design, development, publishing, and commercial exploitation.
- Experience in negotiating and managing commercial agreements and IP licenses in the video game industry.
- Familiarity with global gaming markets, trends, and marketing strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with both external partners and internal teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field in Video Gaming.

- Internal: Clear, concise, and regular updates on project status, challenges, and achievements; facilitation of engagement and material sharing across departments; reporting to a project steering committee.
- External: Professional, strategic communication to manage relationships, negotiate terms, and coordinate approvals, ensuring the project’s success and alignment with organizational goals.
