As a Software Engineer II - Backend at talabat, you will work alongside a cross-functional team comprising engineering, product, and data to continuously discover customer and business needs to drive desired outcomes. Your responsibilities will include designing, writing, and releasing software solutions for end-to-end problems and delivering value in small batches while adhering to engineering standards.
Key responsibilities include understanding scalability and complexity of services and owning the end-to-end software development lifecycle, supporting the optimization of team practices to foster a self-organized, continuously improving unit, and critically evaluating and simplifying tech organization systems, processes, and solutions.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong technical skills and a willingness to take end-to-end ownership of specific areas or initiatives, empathizing with user needs and exploring alternative ways of working for co-creation and continuous improvement.
What You Need to Be Successful:
- Empathy and ability to build relationships.

- Understanding of lean/agile values and principles.
- At least 3 years of software engineering experience, preferably in an Extreme Programming environment (TDD, Pair Programming, Simple Design, Continuous Refactoring) using languages such as .NET, Golang, and C#.
- Experience in automated end-to-end testing and distributed systems architecture (Microservices, Event-Driven, RESTful Services).
- Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
- Experience with Trunk Based Development and Continuous Delivery.
