Java Technical Architect

About the Job: The Java Technical Architect at Virtusa will advocate for improvements in product quality, security, and performance, impacting both your team and others. You will be responsible for solving technical problems of high scope and complexity, significantly influencing the overall objectives and long-term goals of your team. Your tasks will include:

• Defining and improving internal standards for code style, maintainability, and best practices in a high-scale web environment, while advocating for these standards through code reviews.
• Driving innovation within the team by experimenting and tackling complex problems.
• Identifying difficult impediments to team efficiency, proposing and implementing solutions that accelerate iteration.
• Interacting with customers and stakeholders as a consultant and spokesperson for the team's work.
• Providing mentorship to all engineers on the team to foster their technical growth and help remove blockers to their autonomy.
• Confidently shipping large features and improvements with minimal guidance.
• Collaborating on larger projects and actively seeking mentorship opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in their domain, understanding how services interact and the data flows between systems. You will architect services and systems using accepted design patterns that facilitate iterative and autonomous development while anticipating future use cases to minimize the costs of future changes. Collaboration with the security team is also essential for project refinement.
