About the Job
Amazon launched the Generative AI Innovation Center (GenAIIC) in June 2023 to help AWS customers accelerate the use of generative AI to solve business and operational problems and promote innovation within their organizations. We’re looking for Data Scientists capable of using GenAI and other techniques to design, evangelize, and implement state-of-the-art solutions for previously unsolved problems. You will work directly with customers and innovate in a fast-paced organization that contributes to game-changing projects and technologies. You will design and run experiments, research new algorithms, and find new ways of optimizing risk, profitability, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with AI/ML scientists, engineers, and architects to research, design, develop, and evaluate cutting-edge generative AI algorithms to address real-world challenges
- Interact with customers to understand their business problems, aid in the implementation of generative AI solutions, deliver briefing and deep dive sessions, and guide customers on adoption patterns and paths to production
- Create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog posts, sample code, and presentations tailored to technical, business, and executive stakeholders
- Provide customer and market feedback to Product and Engineering teams to help define product direction

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Several years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab)
- Several years of technical management experience, including a minimum of one year in a technical management role in a customer-facing or consulting organization
- Experience in algorithms and data structures, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, neural deep learning methods, and/or machine learning
- Demonstrated senior stakeholder management skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with fairness in machine learning and AI to detect and remove bias in ML/AI systems
- Hands-on experience with deep learning (e.g., CNN, RNN, LSTM, Transformer)
- Prior experience in training and fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Deep expertise in generative AI and hands-on experience deploying and hosting Large Foundational Models
- Knowledge of AWS and AWS AI/ML services and prior experience as a pre-sales, customer-facing field development manager
