Position

As a Resident Engineer
You will provide cost-effective maintenance and optimize the technical performance of hardware products in the portfolio. This includes maintenance and upgrading of firmware (product system software) and product-related applications through remote technical support using Canon remote assistance tools.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing first-line troubleshooting to identify root causes of issues on standalone and connected products.
  • Achieving a high first-time fix rate and minimizing recalls through the effective use of labor time and parts.
  • Reporting on labor and parts investments, including counter-reading using CAESAR (Canon European Service Admin Coding) structure.
  • Optimizing stock inventory and ensuring efficient rotation while balancing return to fit (RTF) visits.
  • Identifying commercial opportunities by signaling insights to the sales and marketing department.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of the team and enhancing overall service performance.
  • Understanding customer requirements to support the functional approach of the Solution Business Strategy.
  • Liaising and reporting back to relevant account managers regarding customer issues.
  • Identifying super-users and providing appropriate training on Canon products and software, including printer drivers and features.
  • Seeking opportunities to develop other areas of the client's business in coordination with the account manager.

What we ask:

  • An Engineering Degree or Diploma in electronics, mechanics, or software.
  • Relevant experience in the service industry.
  • Ability to understand and follow health and safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude with excellent fault-finding skills.
  • Strong customer handling and communication abilities.
  • Team player focused on optimizing team output.
  • Good commercial insight and business acumen.
  • Professional representation of Canon at all times through behavior, communication, and appearance.
  • A current GCC driving license.

  • The ability to work on your initiative as well as in a team environment.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.
  • High accuracy in providing relevant and timely information.
