The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who utilizes the latest technology to implement and support platforms for analytical use-cases. The selected candidate will support software developers, database architects, data analysts, and data scientists on data initiatives, ensuring optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. This role requires a self-directed individual who is comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products. Accountabilities
- Evaluate business needs and objectives
- Identify opportunities for data acquisition
- Analyze and organize raw data
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
- Interpret trends and patterns, build algorithms and prototypes
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and big data technologies
- Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics
Education & Experience
- 5-8 years of experience in the IT industry
- 3+ years of experience with the Azure Data Engineering Stack (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Event Hub, Cosmos DB, ADLS Gen2, Function app)
- Good understanding of other Azure services
- 3+ years of experience with Python/Pyspark
- Excellent knowledge of SQL and a good understanding of Data Warehouse Architecture, Data Modelling, and design concepts
- Experience in Power BI, SFTP, Messaging, and APIs would be an advantage
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Effective working in a team as well as independently
- Experience of working in Agile delivery
- Knowledge of software development best practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- DP200/DP201 certification is an added advantage
