About the Job
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Inception, you will be responsible for designing and developing the backend systems of our AI products. Your role is crucial in creating intuitive, responsive, and engaging user experiences that meet the needs of our customers. You will work closely with product designers, frontend engineers, and AI engineers to deliver high-quality AI products that are both scalable and functionally robust.
The Opportunity
Inception is the UAE’s national-scale enabler in AI Research and Development. Partnering with Microsoft's AI SaaS, we offer domain-specific Agentic AI Orchestrator platforms utilizing reasoning agents for precise and cost-effective services. Our focus includes AI incubation, IP creation, applied AI R&D, and AI investment products. By creating models tailored to specific domains and languages, we ensure superior accuracy and efficiency. We collaborate with top universities and industry leaders to drive significant advancements in AI technology within the region.
Responsibilities
- System Design: Architect and design scalable and reliable backend systems for AI platforms, products, or applications.
- API Development: Collaborate with frontend engineers to build efficient and secure APIs.
- Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks in backend systems.
- Data Management: Work with database administrators to optimize database performance and ensure data integrity.
- Security: Implement robust security measures to protect application data.
- Technology Stack: Stay up-to-date with the latest backend technologies and trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in backend development for AI platforms, products, or applications.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or another backend programming language.
- Deep understanding of system design principles and best practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Knowledge of various architectures, such as modular monolithic, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with distributed systems and scalability challenges.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
- Ability to lead Backend Engineers and projects.
