The IBM Systems Lab Services organization seeks an IT Management Consultant with expertise in IBM Z Systems to lead and deliver pre-sales and post-sales client engagements focused on the adoption of IBM Z Systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing and deploying complex, high-quality IBM Z solutions tailored to diverse business needs. This role includes assessing IT infrastructures, identifying best practice gaps, and creating tailored IBM Z system solution recommendations based on in-depth client collaboration.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver IBM solution design, architecture, and implementation of IBM Z solutions.
- Conduct consulting assessments and workshops for IBM Z Systems.
- Travel to customer sites and execute implementation projects according to agreed Scope of Work.
- Ensure client satisfaction by fostering a collaborative "One Team" approach.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, business partners, and internal teams by understanding their needs.
- Plan, install, implement, and integrate innovative solutions related to IBM Z Systems.
- Transfer skills to customers, business partners, and IBM colleagues during documentation processes at customer sites or IBM locations.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Development teams to identify service engagement opportunities.
- Generate demand for services and drive follow-on business from successful engagements.
- Actively work with resource managers to determine required skills for successful project deployments.
- Maintain high client satisfaction through proactive communication and fulfilling commitments promptly.
- Continuously assess personal skill development to enhance client value and become recognized as an expert in the region.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Engineering or equivalent degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with z/OS and zVM.
- Experience in installation, upgrade, configuration, and testing of IBM Z operating systems and software.
- Knowledge of z/OS high availability and Copy Services technology, including Metro Mirror, Global Mirror, and GDPS.
- Strong skills in one or more areas: Networking, Storage, Security, CICS, Linux, WebSphere MQ Series, z/VM, zSecurity, RACF, Sysplex, DB2 Plex, z/VM system programming, and Linux administration.
- At least 10 years of overall experience in the IT industry.
- 5 years advising technical solution sales and 3 years in solution integration.
- Security and advanced Z Systems technical skills, practical SMP/E knowledge, and familiarity with IBM System Automation and Red Hat Ansible.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Basic RACF knowledge.
- Fluency in English.
This position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and may require up to 20% travel.
