The primary role involves utilizing advanced scientific and technical knowledge gained through graduate study to contribute to innovative ideas in fields such as computer science, mathematics, and engineering. This position is ideal for newly graduated PhD individuals, focusing on individual and team operational objectives.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced scientific and technical knowledge to generate and evaluate highly novel ideas, whether theoretical or experimental.
• Plan and execute complex product designs and processes to advanced states of feasibility.
• Disseminate results of research activities through publications and participation in professional seminars.
• Represent IBM at professional meetings and stay current with literature and advancements in your field.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Professional knowledge relevant to the department or function.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to recognize project-related problems and demonstrate creativity and judgment in solving them.
• Experience leading special projects or small teams and managing routine technical activities.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Engagement as an independent professional with the ability to articulate and negotiate alternative approaches.
• Understanding of departmental missions and ability to control work priorities and methods.
• Contribution to business measurement activities, customer satisfaction, and overall departmental planning.
