The Gaming Strategy Lead role at NEOM Media is focused on designing, developing, and managing the gaming strategy to support NEOM’s overarching business objectives. This position plays a key role in planning, execution, and strategic development of the gaming sector, ensuring alignment with other sectors, especially esports, for maximized synergies.
Key Accountabilities & Activities
- Assist in the development of NEOM Media’s gaming strategy, from roadmap design to delivery.
- Iterate, manage, and track the gaming implementation plan and key KPIs.
- Coordinate and manage strategic consulting resources as required.
- Contribute to gaming department budget forecasting and preparation, including P&L management for approved initiatives.
- Collaborate with sectors such as Sports to ensure strategic alignment.
- Develop financial analyses and business cases for gaming initiatives.
- Create strategic presentation materials for key stakeholders.
- Manage day-to-day initiatives in coordination with department leadership and stakeholders, suppliers, and industry players from concept to completion.
- Drive best-in-class gaming industry activation initiatives to achieve NEOM’s strategic goals and world-class ambitions.
- Plan, design, and execute short-term initiatives to promote gaming sector development.
- Engage with partners to enhance proof of concepts and initial business development efforts.
- Identify partner requirements and structure tailored proposals for partnerships.
- Potentially prepare and facilitate partnership agreements.
- Conduct planning and execution of business development activities to attract gaming companies to NEOM.
- Manage relationships with potential and existing partners in the gaming industry.
Background, Skills & Qualifications
- Deep proven experience in strategy development, ideally within a major strategic consulting firm.
- Experience managing external strategic consultants for sprint-based projects when required.
- Business experience within the gaming industry, preferably in a senior management position.
- Strong knowledge of video game development and the gaming ecosystem.
- Experience developing business plans and cashflows; ideally, experience founding a business.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery from conceptualization to evaluation.
- Strong stakeholder management skills at all levels and experience with third-party and supplier management.
- Experience working with NEOM or in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is preferable but not essential.
- International travel may be required depending on the project.
Qualifications
- Degree, MSc preferred.
- Relevant industry qualifications.
