About the Job
The SOC Analyst (L3) is a developing engineering role responsible for providing a managed service to clients, ensuring their security infrastructures and systems remain operational. Through proactive monitoring, identifying, investigating, and resolving technical incidents and problems, this role restores service to clients. The primary objective is to proactively review client requests or tickets, applying technical and process knowledge to resolve them without breaching service level agreements (SLA). This role focuses on second-line support for incidents and requests with a medium level of complexity. The Security Managed Services Engineer (L2) may also contribute to or support project work as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in cybersecurity and at least 3 years working in a Security Operations Center (SOC).
  • Proficient in incident management and response, handling escalations.
  • In-depth knowledge of security concepts such as cyber-attacks, threat vectors, risk management, and incident management.
  • Responsible for working in a 24x7 SOC environment.
  • Provide analysis and trending of security log data from various security devices.
  • Conduct threat and vulnerability analysis, as well as provide security advisory services.
  • Investigate, document, and report on information security issues and emerging trends.
  • Communicate effectively by developing and delivering written and visual documents for diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate and share information with analysts and other teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of various operating systems including Windows, Linux, and Unix.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols, network analysis, and network/security applications.
  • Knowledge of common Internet protocols and applications.
  • Experience with tools such as SIEM, SSL, packet analysis, HIPS/NIPS, network monitoring tools, and ticketing systems.
  • Ability to communicate and work across different cultures and social groups.
  • Academic Qualifications: BE/B.Tech/M.Tech/MSc/MCA or equivalent.
  • At least one relevant certification (e.g., GCFA, GCFE, CISP, CISSP, CCNP, CCIE Security, CEH).
