As a Senior Technical Engineer, you will design, develop, support, and deliver robust and cost-effective solutions for business and IT-led initiatives. This includes solution development, cost estimations, configurations, deployments, business case development, and approval. Additionally, you will support and ensure solution compliance with the enterprise architecture, production processes, QMS, and other EGIT standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical consultancy and guidance in the technology area and act as the lead technical member in project teams delivering assigned work packages.
- Develop IT Solutions that meet customer requirements ensuring robust design that conforms to corporate standards.
- Ensure that developed architectures/solutions meet service level requirements related to availability, capacity, continuity, security, performance, and reliability.
- Foster the development of high-performing technical teams to meet strategic architectural objectives.
- Collaborate with other IT Technology teams to implement ongoing monitoring of relevant technology.
- Guide Project Manager/Technology team managers for solution definition, technical design, and in-house solution development.
- Ensure assigned incidents are resolved within agreed service levels.
- Maintain high-quality documentation for the technology area following standard templates.
- Manage end-of-life replacement of equipment/software ensuring conformance to technical standards.
- Translate process and enhancement specifications into effective programs with error-free code using enterprise development tools.
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Information Technology and 5+ years of experience.
- Knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices, Servant leadership principles.
- Experience in databases, including relational, NoSQL, and distributed SQL databases.
- Familiarity with leading public clouds and VMware-based private clouds.
- Understanding of Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and shell scripting.
- Experience with continuous availability deployments and environments requiring low latency and high throughput.
- Skilled in performance tuning, capacity management, and troubleshooting large Oracle DB deployments.
- Knowledge in software engineering for database-intensive applications and general database administration in enterprise-critical environments.
- Experience with frameworks like Spring, Java, NodeJS, and .Net applications using relational and NoSQL databases.
